Federal Pipeline Shutoff
The D.C. Circuit vacated a Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration rule Tuesday regarding shut-off valves in pipelines, after two oil and gas associations petitioned to have the rule reviewed.
GPA Midstream and the American Petroleum Institute argued that the PHMSA rule shouldn't apply to "gathering" pipelines, which are used to collect raw gas or crude oil from a well.
